The Iowa Legislative session is nearing completion. As of today, legislators will no longer receive their per diem payment for their work. While it has not been made public, it appears that the House and Senate have reached agreement on the overall budget. Budget bills have begun working through the process (education has not yet been released) and the session could end next week. We will share our budget allocations in a special email as soon as they are released. There are also still several policy proposals that could impact community colleges that we are monitoring including weapons in campus parking lots, support for pregnant students, and property taxes.
