This week saw less high-profile action at the Capitol, but several key pieces of legislation moved forward. Most notably, the governor’s state government reorganization bill moved forward without changes and now goes to her for signature. See our earlier newsletter for a summary of this bill. There could yet be changes to some of the provisions in other legislation yet this session, so we will continue to monitor. This week we were also excited to support HF560, which allows concurrent enrollment funding for nonpublic schools that goes unspent to be used for summer community college programs. This is a great change that allows unused funds to support important summer opportunities for high school students.
