Iowa Expands Support for CDL Training with New Infrastructure Grants for Community Colleges

Governor Kim Reynolds announced a new funding opportunity targeted to support CDL programs at Iowa Community Colleges. The Iowa CDL Infrastructure Grant will provide $5 million in grants to support the infrastructure of programs that train individuals working to receive their commercial driver's license (CDL). Iowa Lakes Community College Nursing Program Achieves Perfect NCLEX Pass Rate

Every graduate from ILCC's Nursing program from the December 2022 and May 2023 classes passed the NCLEX, a required assessment that nurses in the United States must take to obtain their licenses. NCLEX modifications have made this achievement even more impressive by showing off the graduates' knowledge and aptitude in decision-making through scenario-based questions based on real life experiences. Below, find the Spring 2023 graduating class were part of the 100% pass rate at ILCC. 

Community College's for Iowa's Policy and Government Relations Specialist, Katrina Callahan, Passes the Bar 

As many of you know, Kat Callahan began interning at CCForIowa in January while finishing out her last year at Drake University Law School. After taking the month of July off to study for the bar, she took the Exam on July 25 and 26. Last Friday, September 1, she found out that she passed with a 292; Iowa requires a 266 to pass. She will be sworn into the Bar Association on Friday, September 8.
