Kirkwood Community College Recognized As A Top Producer of Fulbright Scholars
KCC has been recognized by a federal agency for being one of the colleges with the highest number of faculty and administrators selected for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program. This program sends American scholars across the world to lecture and conduct academic and professional research. Three scholars from KCC were selected as awardees for the '23-'24 academic year, which ranks first among 17 two-year institutions. To learn more, click here.
Iowa Business Hall of Fame
The Greater Des Moines Committee announced Monday it will recognize Robert J. Denson, President of Des Moines Area Community College as one of the 2023 inductees to the Iowa Business Hall of Fame. Rob serves on the boards of various community organizations and will be honored during the Induction Event on Wednesday, May 1, at the Meadows Events and Conference Center. The Way Up Conference 2024 - Call for Proposals
The Way Up Conference 2024 will take place November 7-8, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center in Coralville, IA. This year's theme is Knowledge, Growth, and Perseverance on The Way Up. Conference attendees include women faculty, managers, and administrators from Iowa Regent institutions, private colleges and universities, and community colleges, as well as individuals on The Way Up, who aspire to grow into such roles. The Way Up Conference Planning Council is seeking submissions for engaging and interactive concurrent session proposals that apply directly to conference attendees and align with one or more of the following tracks: Administrative Leadership, Wellness & Personal Growth, Student Services, and Teaching & Faculty Development.
